Our Story
Where It All Started
Fredric James Barry, President of Barrybuilt Corporation, is a Los Angeles native whose passion, discipline, and entrepreneurial spirit first began on the baseball field as a minor league player with dreams of going pro and touring with his band. In 1992, he and his father, legendary Hollywood actor Gene Barry, founded Barry & Barry Builders as a family business built on integrity, craftsmanship, and pride in their work. A graduate of University of California, Los Angeles and a California State Licensed General Building Contractor for over 20 years, James has built throughout Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, Calabasas, Pasadena, and communities throughout the San Fernando Valley.
James is especially proud of Barrybuilt's reputation for honesty, quality, and client care. In over two decades of business, the company has maintained a perfect record with no complaints filed with the California State Contractors License Board — something that reflects the level of professionalism and dedication brought to every project. Where We Are
Mark Toth brings an international background and hands-on engineering experience to the Barrybuilt team. Born in Hungary and educated in the United Kingdom, Mark originally began his career in engineering, specializing in airplane drone technology before relocating to Los Angeles in 2017. His professional path led him into the construction industry in 2018, where he gained experience managing both commercial and residential projects across a variety of construction environments. After meeting James Barry in 2022, Mark partnered with Barrybuilt and quickly became an integral part of the company's growth in custom home building and remodeling. Known for his personable approach and strong client relationships, Mark enjoys being the face of the company and guiding clients from the very beginning of their projects. His goal is to create a smooth, worry-free experience while delivering the level of care, communication, and attention to detail that Barrybuilt is known for.

We are licensed and bonded in the State of California, our license number is 843112. Barrybuilt and our clients are protected by $1,000,000.00 worker's compensation insurance and $2,000,000.00 liability insurance.
